A Short History of Progress, an Aha! Moment

This course was sure front-loaded with a pile of great books!  A Short History of Progress by Ronald Wright is another that I can't wait to read the rest of.  I have some kind of blurred memory from last week that I have been wanting to get down.  It was a powerful "Aha!" moment that I have associated with this book, but it may or may not have come out of the book.  It may have been something that JG said in class...but basically, somebody said something along the lines of..."When I was a kid, I always felt like something was wrong" (with our society).  "Me to," I thought!  I was so startled that someone else had felt the same way!  Coupled with this discovery was our reading from the book which was a similar experience..."Wow, somebody important is writing all of these hard truths about our society that I know inside to be true, but have never heard articulated so honestly and succinctly!"  It's thrilling to discover that you're not alone in your controversial ideas!  Can't wait to get back to this one.
