Something's Missing

Ok, my thoughts are getting out of chronological order now, but I am really struck by something missing from our past few readings.  I'm very happy to be reading about the limits to an economy based on growth...although that's not a message I hear widely discussed.  It's about time, never ending growth has never made sense to me.  It's not logical in any way!

An aside I have is that I'm discovering that reading depressing stats and numbers is depressing.  I get that they substantiate arguments, but as an average person I can see how that would totally overwhelm you and make you tune out.

The thing I haven't heard yet...and maybe it's just because we haven't been directed there yet is any talk of population control.  North Americans need to stop using and consuming, and we all need to stop reproducing so much.  That will be a hard global conversation!

Has the seeming urgency of climate change overpowered the message of overpopulation, or is that so hot button that nobody ever wants to talk about it?
